Helpmate:
A helpmate is exactly what I got when we started using Church Helpmate. When
I took the position of Church Office Secretary in 2000, another program was
being used. I use the term “being used” very loosely when describing the
other program. It used me by dominating my time whenever I needed to pull
information from it. It didn’t take long for me to begin looking for a
different church management software system. I spent many, many hours
previewing the numerous church software programs available.
What first impressed me about Church Helpmate was how effortless it was to
run reports, go from one module to another in the program, and how easily it
interfaced with programs like Microsoft Word and Excel. The flexibility of
the program also impressed me. Having the use of so many user defined
pull-downs to make the program specific to our congregation is an added
benefit.
Church Helpmate has only increased my workload in a positive way. When
different groups and organizations learned how easy it is to do mass
mailings and send mass emails, they began asking me to send more information
out to their members, which has served to increase communication in our
congregation. People have also appreciated the concise way their giving can
be documented. The pastors have come to depend on the Individual and Family
Profile reports, especially when they help a family plan a funeral. All the
information is right there, including the latest picture of the family and
the individual.
The very few times I have needed technical support with Helpmate, I have
been very pleased with how quickly my questions are answered, and how
pleasant the Helpmate staff is to work with. Thanks again, Church Helpmate,
