Getting Started with Church Helpmate Online





























To run Church Helpmate Online (CHO) from your computer, a small client program will first need to be installed onto your computer.  The information below provides instructions on installing this client program as well as how to start-up Church Helpmate Online.


Please see the appropriate section below based on whether you are using a Windows or Mac computer.



1.  Installing the Windows client software (one-time procedure)

  1. CLICK HERE, then select to "Run" or "Open" the file
    NOTE: Some web browsers (such as Firefox) won't let you Run/Open a link directly.  In this case, you will need to save the file to your computer and then double-click on it to run it.

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the client software. 
    Please note that during the installation of the client software, you will be prompted to enter in your Church Helpmate Online account information (provided to you by Helpmate Technology Solutions).  Please contact Helpmate sales if you have misplaced this information.

2.  Running Church Helpmate Online

  1. Double-click the "CHO" icon from your Windows desktop to connect to the Church Helpmate Online server

  1. Upon successful logon to the CHO server, the Church Helpmate Online program will be opened and displayed.

REQUIREMENTS:  Windows XP or newer




IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you receive error messages during the following process,
    please see this Technical Support Article for troubleshooting tips.

1.  Installing the MAC client (one-time procedure)

  1. CLICK HERE to download idsclient_mac_v5.dmg
    This should place the idsclient_mac_v5 file into your Downloads folder.

  2. From your Downloads folder, open the idsclient_mac_v5.dmg file to run the idsclient.mac.pkg installation wizard - and use the default installation settings.

2.  Installing the CHO desktop icon (one-time procedure)

  1. When you signed up for the CHO service, you were assigned to a CHO Server.  Depending on which server you were assigned to, click the corresponding CHO icon file below to download it.  This should place the CHO icon in your Downloads folder.

  2. From the Downloads folder, pull the CHO icon onto your Desktop.

3.  Running Church Helpmate Online

  1. Click the "CHO" desktop icon to connect to the Church Helpmate Online server.

  2. At the Logon prompt, enter your Church Helpmate Online User Name and Password (provided to you by Helpmate Technology Solutions) and then click the Logon button. 

  3. Upon successful logon to the CHO server, the Church Helpmate Online program will be opened and displayed.

REQUIREMENTS:  Mac OSX 10.6.8 or newer running Intel processor (not compatible with older PowerPC processor)
